At the instigation of an individual of my acquaintance, here's a chance to see how many movie quotes you can identify. There's a little something for everyone, I think, including a few fairly obscure ones. Some are dead easy. (Really!)

1. "All a man needs in this life is someone to love. If you can't give him that, give him something to hope for. If you can't give him that... give him something to do".
Flight of the Phoenix Guessed by [livejournal.com profile] pwcorgigirl

2. "A pirate in love! Like a fish out of water. Both are where they shouldn't be. But only the fish has sense enough to know it."
from Swashbuckler

3. "I heard about you. I heard you were dead."
from Escape From New York

4. "If I were to say to you that I am a stranger traveling from the East, seeking that which is lost"...
"Then I would reply that I am a stranger traveling from the West, it is I whom you seek."

The Mummy Returns Guessed by [livejournal.com profile] chapeau_noir

Benny & Joon Guessed by [livejournal.com profile] chapeau_noir

6. "All great writers begin with a good leather binding and a respectable title."
Finding Neverland Guessed by [livejournal.com profile] beringae

7. "Have you felt yourself to be exploited in any way?"
"Like what?"
"Well...well, like to get this job. I mean, did...did you do, or...or were you asked to do anything lewd...or unsavory, or...or, otherwise repulsive to your... your person, huh?"

Blade Runner Guessed by [livejournal.com profile] pwcorgigirl

8. "In the end, my girlfriend became my arch enemy, my arch enemy became my best friend, and my best friend became my girlfriend. But hey... it's high school."
from Sky High

9. "I feel its only fair to warn you, that killing me is crossing the line and you will have every single Marine from here to Guantanamo Bay up your keester, mister, so just know that."
Once Upon a Time in Mexico Guessed by [livejournal.com profile] chapeau_noir

10. "They say that a man who represents himself in court has a fool for a client. And with God as my witness, I am that fool!"
The Addams Family Guessed by [livejournal.com profile] chapeau_noir

11. "I have taken an oath that no one may cross this bridge without my permission."
Labyrinth Guessed by [livejournal.com profile] chapeau_noir

12. "How much for the little girl? How much for the women?"
"What?!"
"Your women. I want to buy your women. The little girl, your daughters... sell them to me. Sell me your children."
from The Blues Brothers

13. "Is everybody gay? Is this a Twilight Zone?"
from In & Out

14. "The first rule of Italian driving--what's-a behind me---is not important!"
The Gumball Rally Guessed by [livejournal.com profile] kukkurkurat

15. "I have all the characteristics of a human being: blood, flesh, skin, hair; but not a single, clear, identifiable emotion, except for greed and disgust. Something horrible is happening inside of me and I don't know why. My nightly bloodlust has overflown into my days. I feel lethal, on the verge of frenzy. I think my mask of sanity is about to slip."
American Psycho Guessed by [livejournal.com profile] kukkurkurat

16. "Amazing how you can do without the essentials of life, so long as you have the little luxuries."
from Pitch Black

17. "Come here, little chicken! I don't want to hurt you. I just want to eat you. I don't want to hurt you! I just want to make you kosher!"
The Frisco Kid Guessed by [livejournal.com profile] pwcorgigirl

18. "I lie to everyone, what makes you so special?"

I'm a moron when it comes to movie quotes, I can't guess them if they are not from Casablanca. And if they are, I can't either.

what is a "keester"? pretty please?

None of these quotes is from Casablanca. (Sorry, please try again!) Er, looking at my list of interests might help point you in the right direction to several of them.

Keester is a slang term for one's backside. It's a more delicate way of saying up your ass.

I know they are not from Casablanca, you are not 64, right;) but since I can *only* guess Casablanca quotes, I give up before trying.

*carries off Keester and puts in into nice-words-chest*

7 is from Bladerunner.

19 is from Ladyhawke.

10 I'll guess at and say My Cousin Vinnie.

Two out of three ain't bad. (Meatloaf) #10 isn't My Cousin Vinnie, although it's a good guess--I love that movie, being a transplanted New Yorker who has occasionally felt very much out of water in my adopted state.

Thanks! Mr. P. Bear started out as a "most mailed" news photo, and I colorized him (tongue and background) and shrunk him to 100x100. Cuz he just rocks....

4. The Mummy Returns
5. Benny and Joon
9. Once Upon a Time in Mexico
10. Addams Family (one of my all-time favorites!)
11.Labyrinth, right? I could be wrong... But I coulda sworn Sir Didymus said this.
18. The Mummy

Okay, I think that's enough from me. I don't want to take all of them. *sweatdrop* I reckon I watch too many movies. Heh.

6 is Finding Neverland, I think.

I know I've seen 8, but I don't remember what it's called.

I've been at it longer. (One of my very first movies at a theater was "Mary Poppins", in its original release. That dates me!)

According to my husband, 17 is from the Frisco Kid (one of his fave movies).

I'm going to guess that 1 is from Flight of the Phoenix.

I *love* Equilbrium, even though the writing is seriously flawed. One of the numerous projects I began which has fallen by the wayside was to insert some "missing scenes" to give it more coherence and, incidentally, introduced Errol Partridge's revenge-bent daughter as a love interest.

A couple of them date back to the 1970s are on the obscure side. (I was absolutely astonished that anyone got "The Frisco Kid"--quite possibly my favorite Harrison Ford movie, although since he started doing that toothpick bimbo who's younger than me, and I'm young enough to be his daughter Ally McBeal chick, he's kind of lost my respect.) I'm trying to get a response from one more person (who's been on vacation) before I post the final answers. Soon, honest.

Or you can cheat and IMDb them. ;)

I can't believe I didn't get the Escape from New York quote. I love that movie but it's been ages since I saw it. The quote kept nibbling at my brain, but apparently there weren't enough neurons left to make the connection.

Kurt Russell at his yummiest! Although, he's still pretty darned yummy, if you ask me. It's just a little traumatic to see him playing the "dad" parts in Disney movies (like Sky High), since I remember so well when HE was the young hero and "dad" was Fred MacMurray or Dean Jones.

Middle-age done set in when I wasn't looking....

It's not one of the more dramatic quotes, you've got to admit.

Gee, if you're a fan of Blade Runner, maybe I ought to do something with the crack!fic slash crossover I did with Pitch Black.... *wicked grin*
