Well, we've never had a DVR or any of the fancy stuff butyou just confirmed why I never changed from Ma Bell for the home phone. The bundle promo's run out eventually and then I would end up paying more for home phone service. We've also had the same # for over 25 years and I don't want it messed up. A couple of months ago, our bill was going to go up as well- I did manage to reach a very helpful young man who changed it around so that my new bill is actually $1 cheaper and I have more features. i didn't understand how he did it but I said "thanks" and took it. The gherkins before him never offered what he did. I think you just have to land on the right phone person. I've paid the FPL and cable online for years- so glad you got signed up. It's so much easier. You can even request an FPL extension online. When they ask for the name, you have to type in whomever's name is on the bill.
