Book covers

vanillafluffyWell, after much sloth and wanking around care and deliberation, I've got a "cover" illustration for my Halloween fic, which now also has a title! I learned how to superimpose words and pictures onto other pictures---at least enough for this---and it looks COOL. *preens* I modified the original photo I found at Wiki, added a logo and credits (title and author's name)---it's almost like seeing the cover of a real book, OMG, what a rush!
I may be on to something. Maybe that's what I need to do to keep myself inspired: make mock covers for my projects and keep them up as my desktop while I'm writing. (At the moment, I have an Edward Hopper painting, "The Mansard Roof", which renews my fondness for Victorian houses.) I'll bet Julia Cameron would approve; that's the kind of visualization that helps kick things into gear.
Meanwhile, NaNoWriMo is advancing with frightening speed, while my thoughts are like a blender full of rocks---set on 'puree'. I have a folder full of original ideas---and no money, so obviously I need to do something *other* than sit on my ass all day being creative.
Was looking at the fandom lists for Yuletide this evening.... Am I going to do Yuletide? How can I *think* of doing Yuletide when I have so many *other* obligations, not the least of which is FINDING A GODDAMN JOB?
And yet, I've been to the local job bank, I'm registered with AJB, Monster, and Career Builders, I've signed up with *multiple* temp agencies and checked Craigslist. I've sent out countless resumes, filled in an infuriating number of 4-page long applications where they want your life story in a 2" x 3" space, and I've sat down to interview with quite a few shitweasels who've smiled and lied through their teeth about calling me. (I've called them. They ignore me. Like I said, shitweasels.) So---now what, damn it?
