vanillafluffy | Denial, and other hazards of compulsive shopping (Reply)

Today I learned the hard way that food from the new Chinese take-out place up by Winn-Dixie is wretched and not to be consumed. The egg drop soup had too much corn starch in it and tasted like glue, the egg foo yung gravy was brown and salty, and the rice and foo yung had GREEN PEAS in it. (Green peas are evol and disgusting.) Kat and I came to the conclusion that we'll stick to the buffett place up at Byrd Plaza. It's convenient, economical and edible. Nuff said.

Before lunch, we went up to the Sharing Center. (Local charitable thrift store.) Yeah, I know. Like I need to set foot in another thrift store, ever. *tries to look innocent* Just a few books...two scarves, a cheese slicer, some jewelry, and (how do you make your font shrink?) some fabric. I got a length of leopard print chiffon---how could I pass *that* up?! and some polka dot linen and some shiny blue stuff.

I admit, I don't have any clear plans for the blue stuff, but the polka dots are black on white, and there's enough to cover my two dining room chairs AND make a matching square tablecloth. My current concept for the dining room is black and white---I already have some black tab curtains, a circular black tablecloth, and my dishes are black and white. Plus, there's my b&w Scott Mutter poster in a black frame hanging on the wall in there.

I've done laundry and scratched the surface in my room. I'll have more to do on Wednesday, but by Friday, it ought to be navigable for the Great Closet Works Project.

Have done a wee bit of writing, but I'm awaiting an assignment for

spn_summerlove, and don't want to get *too* involved in any given project. (I "only" have FOUR completely different stories going right now. *moans* I am SO compulsive!)
