Imagine my intense concern when I arrived at work this afternoon to get my paycheck (for which we have to show ID) and my wallet (which is supposed to be attached to my keys) was not there. Said wallet has employee badge, driver's license and bank card (and $5 folding money), and it was not there. Or in my bag. Or my car. Or in the parking lot between my car and the building. Luckily, Uber-boss's boss was there, recognized me (Everybody knows me.) and gave the guardian of the checks the okay to release mine.

The uncertainty of wondering wtf happened to my wallet made the day drag on interminably*. We had a bunch of hang-ups on Brand X jeans, an unholy number of orders that wouldn't go through, including one who called back saying she'd given me the wrong zip, and sure enough, it went through. The only one I wanted to sacrifice to a volcano was...I can't even say ESL, because I know damn well I wasn't getting through to him. Dude, I don't CARE if you THINK you placed a White Trash Queen order through Google, you need to contact fucking Google. THEY are the ones who have your money. Have a nice day somewhere else.

Not too bad otherwise; the magic number was 3: it seemed like most of the orders I took were for three items. One WTQ caller was upset because a rep placed an order for her and the confirmation showed the wrong color. We managed to cancel it, but it turned out to be a problem on our end---complicated, but after a short eternity, I got the order placed for her. Similar problems on another site...I hope tomorrow is less fraught.

NOT having a driver's license made the commute sedate even by my standards...spotted a cop turning around behind me about two miles from home and held my breath, but he must've gone a different way, because he didn't catch up to me. Got home, grabbed the flashlight from my dash, scanned the area around the mailbox, the driveway, came inside, and there it was, right under the hook where my keys hang. I don't know what made it fall off, but I'm SO GLAD it's accounted for. And my bank has morning hours on Saturday, so I can run down there and deposit my check before work.

Thank goodness! I called Bookmate (whose shift ends at 12:30) to give her the good news---she was concerned---because otherwise, between her schedule and mine, it would be almost a week until we have any overlap again. Yay, wallet!
