Got a box o' books from GK in today's mail---"What Not to Wear" (the British edition), "No Plot? No Problem" - the NaNoWriMo* writing kit, and a style manual called "Quick Access". The NaNo kit in particular promises to be fun. I've signed up for NaNo a couple of years ago, but never made it beyond the first week. Will this be the year---?
I'm not really happy about my current writing slump---but then, I'm not happy about a lot of other things, most of which you've heard me whinge about. (House, job, weight, car, etc.) I'm already committed to a Halloween costume---that's BEFORE NaNo. I'm not sure about a whole from-scratch novel, but looking at my major unfinished fics, if I spent a week balls-to-the-wall on finishing each of them, I think I'd meet or exceed 50K words. It's a thought.
Time to go move the laundry from washer to dryer and scratch the surface in my bathroom.

* For the non-writers on my f'list, NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month. It's celebrated in the month of November, and the idea is to write a 50K word/175 page novel between November 1st and the 30th. Their site is here: http://www.nanowrimo.org/
