I got an email from GK a little while ago. It seems Kat, who is still in Oklahoma, is in a decline. Her blood pressure is very low, and consultation with her doctor here has her going to the the ER to get things like her potassium checked. She's been having mild dizzy spells over the last few weeks, and apparently they've gotten more severe. (Either that or they've been worse than she's let on---she tends to downplay things like that.)
GK is also somewhat freaked out because Kat withdrew $900 from the bank before her trip---and her account has been set up to pay things automatically, so it needs to go back in PDQ. Says Kat told her it was because she didn't know how much she'd need for the trip. Her plane ticket was prepaid, GK also paid for the hotel and rental car, and she's staying with family. So she really didn't need a lot of walking around money.
She's going to email me when she knows something. I find myself wondering if we're going to have Kat back for Christmas, or indeed, if we're going to get her back at all. This sounds pretty serious. Is it the final crisis? Would it be kinder for her if it was? She's been so disconnected---and getting more so---and getting weaker and so tired all the time....
I'm going to the Xmas party with J in a little while. Not because I feel like partying, but because I really want to be around people right now.
Think good thoughts, y'all. Please.
