Didn't we all read ND back in the day? Magically 18 forever---good trick!---that 'special' age when you're all grown up, or so you think, particularly before puberty kicks in. Nancy and her cute blue car and her travels and well-to-do lifestyle had a certain cachet. Which is not to say that the Mabel Maney spoofs of Nancy Drew and Cherry Ames as lesbians aren't great fun....
