As you can tell from my fic post, it was a good week, at least in that respect. As I mentioned earlier, I had that partial tooth that's been giving me trouble extracted and a follow up to discuss a treatment plan. (I'm looking at losing at least six more teeth, then getting partial dentures. There's one they want to crown, but I don't have that kind of money. Dentures, yes. Crowns, no.)
Meanwhile, the jaw where that one came out is still bothering me more than post-extraction usually does. God willing, it isn't turning into a dry socket, because God as my witness, I *WILL* go play in traffic if that's the case. I *did*, thankfully, get pain meds this time (I didn't know Vicodin came in 325 mg, I thought it was all 500 mg.) because I bitched about not being able to sleep. Not untrue, but not unusual, either. Because I had such a hard time getting them, I'm hoarding them. I break them in half, take half, and wait an hour or so to see if that helps. The bottle says one every 4-6 hours. Since Friday evening (about 36 hours) I've had 1.5.
GK was here on Friday for a couple hours. We went to lunch at Burger King, came back to the house and accomplished some shit! The porch was making me crazy--it was filling up again, and since GK is going to be gone for much of next month, something had to be done. So we got the big shed open and lugged things out there like the old card table, my foldable wire shopping cart and a plastic storage bin full of Christmas decor. And we donated the mirror I'd intended to hang in my room--it was too big and too heavy for this cheesy low-quality trailer drywall to support. So now there's actually a decent amount of space out there, more space than there was been since I moved in, I think.
I'm looking forward to being able to sit out there and sort and categorize my books. There's been some attempt at it--the first couple of months when I got the bookcases out there and unpacked my books, I roughly sorted things, some by size, some by genre, some by author--but it's nowhere near as well organized as it was in Florida--okay, that isn't entirely true--no. That can't possibly be true. Aargh, I am confusing myself.
I have many fewer books here. They are somewhat organized, but not as well as I would like. Those are true statements. I do not have as much shelf space as I need/would like. This is now, has always been and will probably always be a true statement. So there is going to be a spate of library organization in my near future. True. True. True....
Inside, I have managed to wipe out the plague of what GK identified as some kind of gnats. I've been quite busy scrubbing the kitchen to get rid of the icky feeling. The stove is practically sparkling, and it's amazing how much more counter space I have!
Also, I've been rearranging artwork. The grouping in the living room looks more balanced now, and I'm quite pleased by the dog run (hallway).
Time for a nap or something...TTFN.

Date: 2018-07-30 07:22 am (UTC)I know I need to winnow again--somehow, a bunch of my late brother's books ended up in with mine--I would have preferred that they'd gone in the sale in Florida with the rest of them--believe me, I can think of a number of things that I would have rather paid to ship--things I thought I HAD shipped--it still makes me sick to think of some of the irreplaceable things I lost because *some* people were careless a-holes who didn't listen to me! (Not to mention the stuff that was stolen when I got here.) All I can do now is work with what I've got. I only have so much room, I keep telling myself. And that's a good point about how much of it I'm likely to read again in this lifetime. Of course, nobody knows how long they have--my dad make it to 75, that's what I'm shooting for!
The "Don't start reading" is excellent advise. That's why I do better when GK is there to crack the whip--although as I've mentioned, the constant questions make me crazy.
Blessed be!
