Sheep, lamb, whatever....

Who's the biggest car geek in the house? That would be moi! I was coming home this evening when I saw an early 70's Dodge Dart. Sweet. Darts are a helluva lot rarer than Impalas; I see old Impalas a couple times a month, but it's been years since I last saw a Dart. Anyway, I looked at it and frowned, because whoever put it together repainted it with a totally anachronistic late-model GM teal. (Like I said. Geek.) Circa 1972, it would've been either a high-gloss primary blue, a metallic royal blue, or a dark green. Teal? P'tooey!
This is the first Saturday I've legally had off in months, and it's been nice. I slept in, didn't get the benefit of B's services because she was running errands, so I puttered around on my own til after three, then started getting ready for my date. (I'm speaking ironically, here: NOT that kind of date!) I left the house early enough to detour to the wholesale club for bagels for tomorrow, and on my way from there to the C's house, I saw an alligator by the side of the road! (A small one, only about 2 feet long---at first, I thought it was a peeled-off tire, but as I drove past, it moved. Damn, I *love* Florida!)
As promised, the C's took me to Outback as a post-canine nannying treat. I started to be noble and order beef (because I had sticker shock when I looked at the menu---I think the little blighter flew first class from the Antipodes to become my dinner), but was overruled. If I preferred lamb, lamb I must have.
Twist my arm. I had lamb, and it was delicious. There's even some leftover, because I didn't think to tell them to carve it into chops and felt a bit awkward hacking at it. That's okay, though. I've got that and sauteed 'shrooms and some baked potato which ought to make for a nice dinner tomorrow or Monday. They thanked me, I thanked them, warm fuzzies were exchanged and a good time was had by all.
Back at the C's, we hung out and schmoozed for a while. I tossed dog toys for the critters, who I'm told have missed me. Aww! Presently, I started to hear the siren call of Entenmann's chocolate chip cookies...so on the way home, I detoured to Publix for cookies and chocolate milk.
From there, I went home, and on the 520/Tropical Trail light, spotted the poorly painted blast from the past. Look, don't do a screwed-up paint job on something vintage; either leave it original, or take it *way* the hell over the top. Just my 2 cents....
