There's no place like home...
Jan. 7th, 2006 03:31 pmWhen I got home from work Thursday evening, it was to discover that my cable provider disconnected my internet service while I was away. I shrugged at went to bed early--very early--slept for about 10 hours. Woke at 11 pm, said, oh yeah, can definitely to back to sleep. Eyes opened again around 3 am, no, not time to get up yet. (But could visit the facilities sans accompaniment, with my eyes closed.) Same dealio at 5:30--too early...if I'd had i-net, I probably would've gotten up and checked my e-mail, but instead dozed off and on for another hour.
Felt very rested, which was helped by a lovely cool day. Work went well, although the Idiots Per Capita rose drastically as the day got later.
S is happy with the conditions of the dogs and her house; the arrangement of purple chrysanthemums on her dining table made points big-time. (I'd like to say it was one of my Martha moments, but the fact is, I went to Publix to replace the onion rolls that were stolen by schnauzers, saw the 3 for $10 bouquets, and impulsively grabbed one. She's got purple accents in there, what the hell...)
We're having a cold snap (in Florida, the 40s are a cold snap!) and I'm debating going out for a new space heater. Mine kicked the bucket last year...gave it to a friend's husband to fix, and the repair lasted for exactly 20 minutes--so I pitched it. Right now, it seems like a really good idea, especially with the prospect of taking a shower before church....
I know, it's a dump, but it's MY dump! Thank Goddess I'm home!
