I am struggling *not* to use the obvious pun in reference to how much I enjoyed the rock and gem show. (Besides, it's not true.) There was a helluva lot of way overpriced stuff, IMO. It seemed like everything I looked at cost more than I'd brought with me, and I'm talking about simple things like pendants or any kind of tumbled stone at all. I ended up leaving with money, which should tell you something right there.

Acquisitions: a bagful of button covers for $2 from a lovely silver-haired gentleman with one of the finest mustaches I've ever seen--it curled up perfectly on both sides! He was charming and courtly, and a widower. If I were twenty years older, I would've proposed to him. Um, where was I? Oh, yeah. Two black ammonites, three bismuth crystals, two slabs of unpolished rock, a chunk of semi-polished labradorite...I have ideas for most of it--the ammonites are going to become seahorse tails--polymer clay is going to happen there...one of the slabs has holes that form a face--eyes and mouth, anyway--and I'm going to give it wire hair. The other slab is translucent and is going to be a great pendant. Ditto, the labradorite will *probably* be a pendant wrapped in silver wire (when I get more wire). Not sure about the bismuth yet, but I wish I'd gotten more, it's gorgeous.

I gave Barefoot from church two bags of stuff I cleared out of my closet, and she's very happy. Hey, I've been blessed by other peoples' closets, it's karmic payback in a good way. I surrendered a couple things that I really liked: one dress because I saw a picture of myself in it, and that was enough. Another was a blouse that I wore maybe twice, and it was always a *little* too snug. Yeah, I might lose the weight, but meanwhile, she needs it worse than . I bit my lip, and said to myself, "Self, do *not* be selfish. You have a very full closet of clothes that fit you right now...and she has similar coloring and will also look very pretty in that shade of blue." I also included a couple sweaters, a denim skirt, some general purpose schleppy stuff and the last couple of pieces of His clothing. (If he hasn't come back for it by now, he's not going to. Which I think is the same frame of reference that prompted me to rewire the stereo: Well, *somebody's* got to do it!)

Have started writing "xXx: Return from Bora Bora". It's just a short intro to the crack-smoking crossover which probably won't have much Xander in it, but I *had* to undo that idiotic pseudo-dead business. (It's quite easy to resurrect someone when all you have is hearsay that they're dead. Bringing Roy Batty back was *much* trickier!)

Also, showed "Return from Bora Bora" the necklace to AI, and she loved it. It did turn out rather nicely; I could probably make another one, or maybe a matching bracelet....
