This evening I finished watching American Psycho. (I think the next time someone asks me a question that's none of their business, I'm going mention returning some videotapes, which ought to puzzle the hell out of them.) I hadn't previously seen it, nor have I read the book. However, since [livejournal.com profile] kukkurkurat got me started with Equilibrium, I've developed a certain attraction to Christian Bale. Hadn't really paid that much attention to him before, even after seeing Reign of Fire. Now I'm in the process of making up for that; after Equilibrium, I've seen Reign of Fire again (Liked it more than I did in the theater, oddly enough, even though I still think the ending was rubbish.), likewise I saw Shaft again, but that was more fun, because I really *like* Samuel L. Jackson. CB gives good yuppie, and I think his characters from American Psycho and Shaft would get along--scary thought!--maybe a little too well. But Am.Psycho showed more skin!

Have also seen The Machinist--very strange--I was profoundly disturbed to see CB so emaciated there. It brought out my tender, protective instincts: I wanted to feed him chicken soup and cuddle him. Poor baby--! And yes, I am probably the last person in North America to see Batman Begins, and CB is now officially my all-time favorite Bruce Wayne. (Although I still have fond memories of Adam West. Yes, I AM that old....) Bat-fic in progress.... And still lots that I haven't seen yet! The Velvet Goldmine sounds darned interesting.

Other than that, I got up and out fairly early. Went and traded in my remaining aluminum cans for enough cash to get bread and eggs and orange juice--the juice was as indulgent as I was going to get; I thought about chocolate, but spoke sternly to myself since I still have some of those cranberry things left, as well as some Girl Scout cookies. And this way, I've got something to mix with gin and/or peach brandy....

We're having a clothing swap after service at church, and I managed to find an armload of stuff to take. My closets are getting rather well thinned out. I've given a batch to the rummage sale, batches to friends, and now this. I'm trying not to hang on to a lot of stuff that doesn't fit. I have kept a few things, but it's getting easier to let go...I ask myself, if this fit, would I wear it tomorrow? And if the answer is no, away it goes.

Tomorrow, I don't expect much in the way of clothes--I might get a shirt or jacket if I'm really lucky--but would be happy with some nice accessories. A decent purse would be welcome, and scarves, or shoes, although I'm not holding my breath there, as I've got feet like a Clydesdale. 11W, thank you very much.
