After church, I had the unexpected pleasure of being invited to a movie: R invited me to join her for Ice Age 2, which was a lot of fun. (Other American Psycho fans in the audience will understand why the line, "Not the face!" almost made me fall out of my seat with hysterical laughter.) It's movies like this that makes me really miss my brother: Peter was a huge fan of animation--when I was growing up, I was the convenient kid for him to drag along to all the rereleased Disney classics--and I would love to be able to compare notes with him about the way the state of the art has developed.

Later, we wandered the Mall for a little while, and ended up at Books-a-Million--I was good; I *didn't* buy anything. Not because I didn't see anything I liked, but because there was nothing I was willing to bounce a check for. I already know my overdraft is going to kick in for the insurance payment--I'm not going to make it any worse than it already is.

Oh--and R gave me an early birthday present--try six months early!--she picked up a couple pieces of aluminum at a yard sale for me. There's a silent butler (it looks like a little warming pan) and a small tray with primroses. Note to self: I need a new tube of Maas polish next time I can afford to shop.

Tonight I'll try to go to bed *early*--the time-change is BAD in spring.
