This is the most brilliant fannish thing I've seen anywhere in ages:

If you're interested in the tarot at all and/or PotC, you MUST give this a look-see. It's beyond awesome. It matches carefully cropped (and bordered) images from PotC with the cards of the standard Rider-Waite Major Arcana, with analysis that shows a firm understanding of traditional meanings.

Go on, you'll thank me. Really. Spoilers for DMC, in case you haven't seen it yet.

I've allowed myself to be distracted today, by the Sparrington flogging and one of my claims for the Chase ficathon. The former is perversely fun; I can take my cranky evil bitchiness out on Jack Sparrow via Norrington, with a little help from my friend...

The latter...I started writing in early June, wrote feverishly for a few days, then let it sit for seven weeks, and came back to it with a fresh perspective. When I dropped it, I knew it wasn't flowing. I've learned to recognize mental logjams, and this just didn't work the way I had it. My subconscious must've been playing with it, because when I went back, I was able to edit and shift things around. Get rid of this; move all this down there and insert this other idea you had in the middle---see, that's more like it. Sometimes, the best thing you can do really is nothing at all.

Which is all very gratifying in terms of writing, but does damn all to find me a bloody job....
