You are The Empress
Beauty, happiness, pleasure, success, luxury, dissipation.
The Empress is associated with Venus, the feminine planet, so it represents, beauty, charm, pleasure, luxury, and delight. You may be good at home decorating, art or anything to do with making things beautiful.
The Empress is a creator, be it creation of life, of romance, of art or business. While the Magician is the primal spark, the idea made real, and the High Priestess is the one who gives the idea a form, the Empress is the womb where it gestates and grows till it is ready to be born. This is why her symbol is Venus, goddess of beautiful things as well as love. Even so, the Empress is more Demeter, goddess of abundance, then sensual Venus. She is the giver of Earthly gifts, yet at the same time, she can, in anger withhold, as Demeter did when her daughter, Persephone, was kidnapped. In fury and grief, she kept the Earth barren till her child was returned to her.

What Tarot Card are You?
Take the Test to Find Out.

For the record, I selected Uma Thurman as the heavenly body I most identify with. That's who I want to play me in the movie about my life. Why are you laughing? She's the epitome of the thin woman inside me struggling to get out.

A trip to Wal*Mart has yielded some great black denim spandex leggings---at least, that's what they called themselves. They're amazingly comfortable and they're long enough---I'm very tempted to hit every other W*M in the area to see if I can find a couple more pairs.

Next week after church, AI is starting an on-going class on the tarot. I read for myself, and have gotten good results, but I'd like to gain enough confidence to be able to read for others, especially since I've had requests.

With that in mind, and because I was ambushed by an attack of CUTE, I bought myself a new deck---The Housewives Tarot. I kid you not: http://www.housewivestarot.com It's all in the style of 1950s artwork, and the accompanying book is just a stitch! Even if I never read with them, they're going to be a hoot to pass around.

Also finished reading that Elizabeth Moon book while I was lurking around Barnes and Noble---was disappointed that the advisor was NOT who I thought it was---and I picked up the last copy they had of the latest ish of Belle Armoire, which is my very favoritest craft 'zine ever. (My 'zine stack has become incredibly schizophrenic of late: Belle Armoire, Hot Rod, Martha Stewart Weddings, Blueprint, Mary Engelbreit's Home Companion and Street Trucks. No dichotomy here, no sir!)

Vehicularly, I have moved on to Plan B: IE, I'm looking around for another vehicle I fancy. S & T have agreed that they're going to give me their Camaro, but they're still looking for its successor, so I'm charged with keeping an eye out for something for them on my travels. She wants a convertible for under $10K. He wants a truck for $4-5K. Uh-huh.

Plan B---because you're wondering why I'm looking for a vehicle if I'm getting the Camaro---the answer being, I'm hoping to use the Camaro as a trade for something better. That way, I'll still have the Honda, which is a known quantity. (I know it runs, at least for now, and I know how crapped out that Camaro is.) Hell, I could put it on eBay and get *something* for it, because there are plenty of people out there with money and more mechanical expertise than I have.

Best case scenario involves me finding something I like on the same lot as something that fits one of the requests I have...if I can bring the lot some business, maybe they'll cut me a deal.

Yes, my darlings, I AM an optimist.

Mostly.

This is the most brilliant fannish thing I've seen anywhere in ages:

http://viva-gloria.livejournal.com/180229.html?view=1417477&style=mine#t1417477

If you're interested in the tarot at all and/or PotC, you MUST give this a look-see. It's beyond awesome. It matches carefully cropped (and bordered) images from PotC with the cards of the standard Rider-Waite Major Arcana, with analysis that shows a firm understanding of traditional meanings.

Go on, you'll thank me. Really. Spoilers for DMC, in case you haven't seen it yet.
