So, tomorrow....
Jan. 4th, 2007 02:00 amThe answer to at least one of life's burning questions has been answered: it isn't a question of automatically keeping seasonal employees, it's a question of seasonal employees applying to stay. (And why am I surprised? This is, after all, the outfit that makes applicants fill out a paper AND an electronic application, with the same questions on both....) Deadline is Friday afternoon, so I'll head in early tomorrow...er, this afternoon...and do whatever I need to.
My sales numbers are pretty good and I *think* my manager likes the job I'm doing. My attendence has been perfect and my adherence to schedule is acceptable across the board. I give good phone.
I'm going to ask them if it's possible to work 4 ten hour days instead of 5 eight hour days, thus eliminating one 45 mile commute from my routine. Doesn't hurt to ask, right?
And, worst case scenario, at least this time I'll qualify for unemployment.
