vanillafluffy: (Phone ringing)
The answer to at least one of life's burning questions has been answered: it isn't a question of automatically keeping seasonal employees, it's a question of seasonal employees applying to stay. (And why am I surprised? This is, after all, the outfit that makes applicants fill out a paper AND an electronic application, with the same questions on both....) Deadline is Friday afternoon, so I'll head in early tomorrow...er, this afternoon...and do whatever I need to.

My sales numbers are pretty good and I *think* my manager likes the job I'm doing. My attendence has been perfect and my adherence to schedule is acceptable across the board. I give good phone.

I'm going to ask them if it's possible to work 4 ten hour days instead of 5 eight hour days, thus eliminating one 45 mile commute from my routine. Doesn't hurt to ask, right?

And, worst case scenario, at least this time I'll qualify for unemployment.

I called the company just now, to find out how long the application process would take, so I'd know how early to go in. Good thing I did: I learned that the memo that went up yesterday didn't related to our call center, but one in another state. That's been fixed, but still no word on when WE know what's what. (But wtf, I have scheduled hours posted through next week, so I'm just going to do my job and enjoy it while it lasts.) At least I didn't go haring in an hour early; I would've ended up at Goodwill again, and that I don't need!
