First workday of 2007
Jan. 3rd, 2007 01:23 amOf course, I *forgot* to set the timer before I left for work, but when I hustled out on my last break, hoping for the last 15 minutes of House, found myself watching football instead, and thanking the NFL for saving me from myself.
On the way in, I passed *trumpet fanfare!* a DeLorean. Yup, they *do* exist off the silver screen. (I sat in one once, in a used car, lot back in 1984.) The one was off on the shoulder of the road, and smoke or steam was coming out of the back vents. I know it has a rear-mounted engine, but I have no idea wtf was wrong with it. It still ran, though, because it hung a U-turn after I passed and booked off heading north.
Also sighted a Chevy SSR, which is what I'd be driving if I had a six-figure income. Well, either that, or some kind of truckzilla...or a Chrysler 300e.
Today went pretty smoothly at work: got some orders, answered a lot of questions, didn't have anyone I wanted to cuss out in a major way, wasn't on the phone with the help desk non-stop. Still no word on the final bonus total.
