Well, this is exciting....
Dec. 23rd, 2007 12:55 amI'm listening to the timer tick to discover whether or not
pwcorgigirl's gingerbread recipe is blonde-proof. (I think I may have inadvertantly added too much water. By about a quarter-cup. IF I did.)
What can I say? ( I'm brain-fried, and SO glad I don't have to deal with that shite again until THURSDAY. )
The gingerbread is my contribution to potluck tomorrow. I didn't find out about it until today; then I looked around and discovered that I had no oil for the brownie mix, no mayo or salad dressing to make pasta salad with, and probably not quite enough tomato sauce to feed the multitudes. So, gingerbread it was, since I grabbed all the ingredients around Thanksgiving then ended up at Schnauzerland. It'll be ready to test in a few minutes, but just from licking the spoon, I know it's gonna be tasty....

Just did the straw test after 35 minutes, and the center is still liquid. Since the recipe states the usual baking time is 35-45 minutes, I don't think that's a good sign. Am giving it another 15 minutes....
Wish me luck!

EDIT: I pulled it out and tested it as the timer struck 15, and the straw was clean, so either I didn't screw up, or it IS blonde-proof!
...I wonder if Bella bakes...?
