Spent some more time out front this afternoon, and got two things done: I spaded up the ground in the bed in front of the porch terrace wall, and I topped the open concrete bricks of the wall with some small terra cotta bricks. Not mortared, or anything like that, but covering the holes and providing a level surface for the pots I'll be transplanting the 'maters to and in general giving it a more finished look.

The sage has finally decided to put in an appearance amongst the seedlings, but the 'maters are still the most prolific by far. My strategy calls for bedding the herbs, potting the 'maters, and weeding/clearing out the bed with the schefflera for the carnations. (Not getting rid of the scheff, although it DOES need some pruning.)

I'm crossing my fingers for the weather to stay decent. Today has been a refreshing 65F, breezy, mostly overcast, which was very comfortable to work in.

Life is good.
