Back to work soon, alas....
Apr. 15th, 2008 02:12 pmYesterday afternoon, I spent on the front porch. Read a little, weed a little. Repeat. Very relaxing. Clearing off the porch has definitely been worth the effort!
Last night, I spent three hours on the couch trimming the hat I got a couple weeks ago. Very painstaking work---I hand-sewed a ribbon around the brim, which required stitching the top and bottom edges of the ribbon for it to lie right. The ribbon around the crown was much easier. Next, I'll work on attaching the silk flowers---I have sunflowers and some greenery---and maybe a bit of rick-rack, if I can find something suitable.
This morning after brunch I ran up to Winn-Dixie and floated a check for some groceries, because I'm at the "Don't even SAY the word 'egg' to me" phase. Same goes for tuna, I'm over them both. I got some neutral nuke-ables, and a few things I can cook, like some ribs for the crockpot tomorrow, some mushrooms to stuff, sliced turkey---normal food. Now that the property taxes are paid, I'm less anxious about every nickel, although I still have to think about the car. If it's not one thing, it's five things....
