I got a ton of compliments this morning at church---every gal in the congregation has dubbed my hair "cute", ditto GK. You wouldn't think hair could be *that* heavy, but this is light and bouncy by contrast. Now all I need to do is take care of my roots...I have the stuff, I just kept putting it off because it was such a pain in the neck. I *will* need a new hairbrush for styling---and maybe a wide-toothed comb---but what a joy not to have all that length to groom!

GK came by this afternoon---sans offspring---and we spent three whole hours JUST on my bedroom closet. I'm still not sure how ONE closet could take so long, but there was a certain amount of modeling and wrangling.... Got rid of a VERY big box of stuff and liberated a whole laundry basket full of (plastic) hangers. I'll miss some of the discards---I let go of some favorites for stains or because the length was too short---but a lot of it I wasn't wearing anyway. GK didn't shrink from pointing out things that didn't work---too clingy, fits funny under the arms, and so on---and I didn't override her opinion on many items.

Conked out and had a nap after her departure. Had an invite to go over to her motel to swim, but didn't have the energy. Plans for tomorrow are still up in the air, but we got the lion's share done. Yes, there's still the garage, and sundry stuff that's lying around as laundry, but what we did makes a big difference.

It's certainly going to be novel *giving* things to Goodwill for a change!

Good news!

Just heard from V, the gal I'm trading schedules with this week at work. We've been approved so that I'll come in Wednesday for training and work her shift. She'll have Wednesday off and work my Saturday, thus saving me a fifth commute (for a 2-hour training, bah!). Meaning it's going to be a bitch of a week for me, but I'll have Saturday off next week. Yay!

Even if S's plans for next weekend fall through, I'll still have the day free to catch The Dark Knight, which I'm looking forward to. I read a review that said it lives up to the hype and is better than the first one---IMO, that will take some doing, but we'll see!

And while GK and 1 & 2 are doing their thing til mid-afternoon, Kaat and Grandma and I are going to meet for lunch. (Beef tips on noodles and green beans and sweet tea, oh my!)
