vanillafluffy: (Don't try this)
Tomorrow, BC is coming over and removing that bloody heating unit from the hall closet. I've been trying to get rid of the freaking thing for WELL over 10 years now, and I'm thrilled by the prospect of having it done at last. With that gone, I'll have a much better idea of how much demolition will be necessary to open up the space for a fridge. It's a question of wiring an outlet there and learning how to install drywall to tidy up said closet. Then I can move the fridge over there, put up a countertop and some pegboard in the area the fridge currently occupies, and improve the efficiency of my kitchen by about 500%.

Well, okay, that's the long-term plan, but just getting the heater out is a HUGE part of it. BC has also procured a very pretty ceiling light fixture, which is also a long-term thing: it'll be perfect in my boudoir when it stops being an office. When the office moves into the other room, so will the fan, at which point the very ornate antique goldtone fixture will be divine in here.... Meanwhile, it can wait. The fixture in the middle room can stay where it is for now.

Did anybody else notice Alona Tal on The Cleaner this week? Nice to see she's still getting work....

I just had a visit from the Guatemalan Forestry Service, who says he'll be out to mow on Saturday. Apparently he was out of the country for a while, but now he's back! And the reason the property around the corner looks abandoned is because he's moved and I didn't notice. His story is that the landlord wouldn't fix anything---I believe it, because I remember what the place was like before they moved in---and besides, that house is right over the fence from that ongoing construction site. Huge nuisance!

Anyway, that's one less thing to worry about!

No visit from BC yet, because I was waiting to hear from Kat...if I'd known how long she was going to be doing the stuff she had to do, I'd've gotten ahold of him as soon as I was conscious and it would be done already, but that's life....
