vanillafluffy: (Swine flu)
Okay, so it hasn't been the greatest week. I took Tuesday off because my lower back would not consider letting me get dressed, walk out to the car, get into the car, drive to Melbourne, get out of the car, hike into the building, work for eight hours and reverse the process. Was NOT happening. So I took it easy, and it's back to normalish.

Meanwhile, the sore throat decided that my tonsils needed an overnight growth spurt and that swallowing in any capacity was strictly optional. I ended calling out sick again today, and I'm sure they're not going to like it. I don't like it either, since the doctor visit and scrips cleaned me out. (Copay and Rxs, $35. Finding a doctor I can stand, priceless.)

I'll need to follow up with him about sundry other things, but since this is the first time I've been to a doctor in...six or sever years? Something like that---it wasn't too bad. Dr K. didn't give me any crap about my weight, although he did recommend that I cut down to five cans of soda a day. (Told him I usually chug two cans for breakfast---he winced.) He also said that swine flu is more widespread that the news is reporting, but there's treatment that works, so it's not worth freaking out about.

There may be an additional charge for the throat culture he sent to the lab, but I'll worry about that as needed. Meanwhile, I have antibiotics and some Tylenol #4 for throat pain. His original suggestion was codiene-based syrup, but that's not workable for a couple reasons. One, it's not very portable, and two, I'm awful at portion-control with that kind of stuff. I chug the OTC goop straight from the bottle---a bad idea with the hard stuff!

Other stuff...I have a 55-gallon contractor bag more than half-full of 2-liter plastic bottles---and another one that's about a third full of cans. Maybe the doctor is right.... LJ is prodding me to renew my paid account. Yes, thanks, I KNOW. I was going to do it this week, but the medical expenses took care of that. I really want to take care of that, since I sure could use a few more icon slots. Kat and BC are driving up to GA this weekend and meeting GK there for the funeral of Kat's brother-in-law.

There's probably more, but I can't think of it....
