I'm delighted to announce that my water is flowing again as of 2:45 this afternoon (or thereabouts--I was really more interested in getting the dishes done than checking the clock). The taps are set to 'dribble' so there won't be a repeat performance, and I'm looking forward to a leisurely shower/hair-wash in the morning. I want plenty of time for my hair to dry before nighttime temps kick back in.

It's been a pretty good day all around. GK invited me to go bowling with her, which I was thrilled to do--last time I bowled at all was 2014 and the last time I bowled with my own ball was circa 2003. Mind you, I'm not good at it--I bowled a 27--but I had a good time, and although we only bowled one game, I wasn't tired afterward, and that was AFTER we stopped at an estate sale on the way there.

GK is on the email list for every estate sale company in the area--there are several--but this wasn't any of them. It was a guy whose dad had passed, and he and some friends put it together. As I said to GK on the way there, some times the amateur sales are better than the pro sales, because they aren't anally hyper-organized and overpriced. This one proved my case. The prices weer, for the most part, extremely reasonable. I got a heavy duty orange extension cord, several aluminum smalls, a miniature anvil, and the real prize, an XXL black genuine leather jacket for a TOTAL of $12. The jacket was $2. Admittedly, it's a men's jacket, but I can zip it up and it's warmer than any of the jackets I've been wearing this winter. That's worth a little unisexism.

So estate sale, a game of bowling, and I still had enough energy left to go to Walmart--although I got a Lyft home. Too many bags to walk, not to mention it was 30-something out. A beautiful clear day, but still--!

I got home, had a snack, sat down to write and was assiduously working on my current epic when I became aware of a sound. I leaped up, ran into the bathroom, and miracle of miracles, the water was running. I flushed, ran into the kitchen, opened up the taps for hot water and dealt with a week's worth of dishes. I spent $7 at Walmart for paper plates and bowls, because I wasn't sure how much longer the drought would last. I may hang on to them, although I really hope this isn't EVER going to happen again.

I'll probably be nodding off in an hour or so--I haven't had a nap today--but I'm feeling pretty good after such an active day. Go me!

Love to all.
