Yippie-ki-yay, turkey!

vanillafluffyWow. Today was an incredibly long day! Good, though. I snagged some fresh porn, had an awesome lunch, won at cards and just finished watching Live Free or Die Hard. I could see why they put the price tag they did on that shindig. Whoa! There were ice sculptures, multiple carving stations in addition to the buffet, salmon two different ways, lamb, turkey and prime rib. Also a delish couscous salad, bean and corn relish, and a pasta-and-portobello combo that was tasty as well. The desert buffet was a choice of fruit 'n' cheese or PIE. I went with the pie, and they were all good.
There was also an excellent keyboard player who kept the tunes coming...between dinner and desert, I fished out $5 (all the folding money I had on me) and wrote a note (of course I had a notebook and pen in my bag) with a request. From the stuff that was in his repertoire, I figured he'd know "In the Mood"---and I was right. My choice surprised my companions, but I am nothing if not complex and capricious.
Response on Heads or Tails hasn't been overwhelming, but it's only posted to one com AND it's a holiday. The recipient liked it, though, and that's the most important thing! I *did* get a review on "It Takes One to Know One" out of the blue. Not bad for something I finished a year and a half ago. That's the gimmicky little space opera where, except for the first and last chapters, each episode is a double drabble. (The first chapter set up the premise, the last one was a "where are they now?".)
Tomorrow is Black Friday. I think I may post that Bobby fic just so I'll (hopefully) have some shiny reviews to look forward to, cos OMG, it's gonna be a bear.
