Ha! Just got off the phone with one of the trainers and have managed to finagle a change. I'm going to go down there and do both classes on Tuesday. It'll mean going in EARLY, but I'd much rather do that than a) drive back and forth twice and b) have to do it on Friday.

Which just goes to show that sometimes being vocal can change things for the better! *grin*

You go, girl! I just got a raise today but wouldn't have if I hadn't asked for it. It appears to me that women are often afraid to SPEAK UP for what we really want/ need. You and I made great strides for women today by simply speaking up!!! Squeaking wheels rule. :)

Congrats on the $$$!

I'm not afraid of speaking up as much as I am afraid that I'll be TOO assertive, wrong tone, belligerant, etc. Temper, temper....

I'm the same way - not afraid to speak up, if it's really important to me, but BECAUSE it's important to me, I'm always worried I'll come across the wrong way.

*sigh*

I'm glad it worked out for you, in this case!

Me too. I've been looking forward to getting stuff done with GK for the last couple of months, and for them to unerring pick the ONE DAY I needed to be at home...!

Yeah. Employer + Bad Timing? Pretty much a given.

BTW, this is totally OT, but I'd just turned on the SciFi channel to check the onscreen guide (didn't know whether there was a new episode of Ghosthunters tonight) and got a lovely eyefull of James Remar. They're showing the movie "Inferno" and he's shirtless and wearing a tiny pair of tight shorts while sweating and nursing a cold alcoholic drink.

Guh.

Didn't realize you were a James Remar fan- he had a good role on "Sex and the City."

I've had a warm wet spot for JR since...it was either The Phantom, or maybe Mortal Combat. Either way, much squee! I went and watched the rest of Inferno, implausible b-movie tho' it was, got to see him in a soggy tee shirt...GOOD afternoon! (Was also surprised and please to see the actor a/k/a The Yellow-eyed Demon as the sadistic platoon leader. Woot!) Thanks again for the heads up!

The scene I mentioned was about an hour in, and it lasted almost 15 minutes. He was having a conversation (about why he's no longer a practicing doctor) with a female co-star. Honestly? The movie would be well-worth renting JUST for that scene.

Yum.

Apparently, it was made for the Sci-Fi channel and isn't available on DVD. Rats! I'd pay money to see that! Guess I'll have to keep an eye on their broadcast schedule and try to get it with the VCR.

I'll keep an eye open for it as well. Between the two of us, we should be able to pinpoint when it's being shown again.

YAY YOU for standing up and dealing with it. (I would probably have just sighed and cursed but gone alone. It's what I do.)

It's usually what I'd do, but this is really important to me, so I figured it was worth a try. Thanks!
