I had A Moment at work today where I could hear the caller's dogs barking in the background, and I said jokingly, "They sound like schnauzers." And my caller said, "They're half schnauzer and half Westie---how did you know?!" "Because my godchildren are schnauzers, and omg do I know what they sound like!"

Partly it was the pitch, partly the dialect---you know how it is when you don't necessarily speak a language yourself, like Spanish, but you know someone else is when they're speaking? It was like that.
