I can has fan!

I now have vast tracts of fan! No joke, this thing is at least four feet across, and is in like-new condition despite having been rescued from a curb by BC. He installed it in about an hour, and then moved the other fixture to the hallway, so I also have light there, for the first time in...a year? Six months? I don't remember, but yay, light!

I assisted him by doling out cups of root beer as he worked---having had the forethought to pick up a bottle of the stuff yesterday so that I could provide libation---and handing up bits and pieces as needed.

The only downside, and it's easily corrected, is that there's no light fixture on it, so I'm going to have to move a light in here until I can get a light kit.

And he got away without moving the TV. Grrr. But I *DO* know where he lives!

People will buy ceiling fans intending to have them put up and then never get around to it. I think that's why you see at least one still in the box at every yard sale. Free from the curb is even better! :)Maybe when you buy the light kit you can prevail on him to haul the TV out to the curb.

I'm not sure what the going rate is on a kit, but I'm thinking try to schedule it for Wednesday, since that's my last chance before GK gets here.

Per him, it came from a fairly ritzy neighborhood. Easy come, easy go when you've got money, I guess!
