This has been a LONG day. Alarm went off at 9:40, I called GK...she had some idea of parking Thing One and Thing Two in my living room where we did Project Wardrobe---ah, no. Yes, they're beyond the toddler stage, but they have allergies and...just, no. We ended up meeting over at Kat's, then the whole crew of us went back to their motel and us adults (me, GK, Kat and Grandma) sat around the pool while Thing Two went for a swim. (Thing One stayed in the motel room playing video games---the door to the room was visible from where we were sitting.) Then around 3-ish, we went to the big Chinese buffet on M.I.

When last seen, GK was heading for Goodwill. I looked up AI's stylist and the deed is done! Vanillafluffy is now VERY fluffy. My hair is just to my shoulders, which is actually a bit longer than I'd planned, but OMG, the curl! I'm quite surprised. It's also long enough to tuck behind my ears OR put up in a French braid OR pull back with a barette. I'll get pix soon, I promise!

I hit Fashion Bug on the way to grab munchies to take to the game...got two items. One is a long-sleeved twill shirt in a very pretty violet---definitely a winter-weight item, but it was $1.98, plus 20% off. (So yeah, quite a deal, and I have things it'll go with.) The other item is a little more year-round, and something I've been wanting for a long time---a solid color, short-sleeved shrug. In this case, the color is dark brown, and it fits perfectly.

Canasta was less than stellar. S was kinda wasted and nodded off...*facepalm* I thought she'd straightened out, but apparently not. The rest of us made the best of it, but as soon as we'd finished the hand, we called it a night. And here I am.

Oooh, the new 'do sounds great, as does the fabulous fashion finds.

I don't feel any regrets; I really was ready to shed all that hair. Now it'll do good for someone else. And something very interesting---the stylist told me that the clippings are saved and go to make a product that helps absorb oil when there are oil spills. Isn't that cool?! Getting a haircut AND doing my bit for the environment!

That's fascinating! I did wonder what happened to the cut hair, since it holds up well in the environment. People who want to keep deer out of their gardens will sometimes make up bags of salon sweepings to hang on the fences, but there's a limit to how much of that anyone needs.

Okay, that's a detail I'm going to have to use somewhere....
