Having evenings available again is sooo good. It feels normal. Plus, this is the time of year that I love, when TV starts showing fresh eps again, and the holidays are on the distant horizon and there's so much possibility in the air because it's not so infernally HOT. Tonight, for instance, is the season premiere of Criminal Minds...we can resolve that nagging cliffhanger of whether Hotch gets shot, and I can indulge in lusting after Joe Mantegna.

To add to the sense of Occasion, I'm going to cook. I have some ground beef, a jar of alfredo sauce and a bag of wide egg noodles. There will be Dinner. And, since I also have milk and a packet of instant pudding, there will be Dessert as well.

Happily, I've gotten responses back from my betas on that fic I've been hammering away at, the consensus being a rather gratifying OMG. Post tonight or post tomorrow? I *think* post tomorrow, for logical reasons that are too spoilery to go into here....

Only 90-something shopping days until Christmas! Even fewer writing days until [livejournal.com profile] yuletide.

Last night was the season premiere of NCIS. It was so wonderful that I found myself clapping at the end!!

Gibbs saving the day was made of win. I recognized the news story they based the freighter's disappearance on, so I *knew* Ziva wasn't dead. (Yup. IRL, the freighter went MIA for about a month, then was found off the Azores.) Points to the show's writers for finding inspiration in the headlines!

thank you so much for this post! I had completely forgotten to set the DVR for Criminal Minds, and I would have wept if I'd missed it. (well, okay, I would have grumbled and then found another way to see it, but STILL)

and yay cooking! which reminds me, lunch before I have to go out.

I know how that is! I only found out Heroes was back at 8:01PM Monday night. I would've wept bloody tears if I'd missed that!

Yes, tonight is going to be a very satisfactory Wednesday!

Your dinner sounds so yummy. Our fridge is really most sincerely dead, so I won't be cooking tonight. The repair guy is supposed to get a helper, pick it up and take it to his shop tonight and deliver it back to us tomorrow.

Acck! What a shame that they don't have "loaners" like car dealerships do!

We have our cooler and a bigger one I borrowed from Miss V. sitting the spot formerly occupied by the fridge. We're referring to it as our redneck refrigeration system. :D

At this point, it's "laugh so you don't cry," since we lost almost all our food and our next grocery shopping trip will cost a small fortune on top of the $400-plus to replace the compressor. Aldi, here I come!
