I didn't sleep worth a damn last night, which makes my general activity level this morning rather surprising. I tossed and turned and COULD NOT get comfortable; I might have gotten all of three hours of much-interrupted sleep before getting up to hit the food pantry.

I got a package of Italian turkey sausage, which will give me a reason to use some of the vast stocks of tomato sauce I have on hand (with a smidge of extra garlic and onion, served over lovely frozen WalMart ravoili). I also acquired some chicken pieces, which I think I'll roast and shred into a box of stuffing and pair with green beans (also in ample supply).

And because I'm on a roll, I did the dishes and flatware. If I can keep going, I want to clear out and reorganize my fridge, which is at the "things on top of things" stage.

Another major project is, I need to thin out my kitchen cupboards; they're such a jumble. My dishes mostly live in a drying rack on my counter---the cabinets are stuffed with mixing bowls, measuring cups, te dishes that get used less often---oh God, if I could only get my kitchen switcheroo done!

Ooh, the turkey and ravioli sounds delish!

I culled my kitchen stuff when we moved into this house. Although our old house was smaller, it had a bigger kitchen, and I'd acquired all kinds of things I didn't use. The unused stuff went to the thrift store and has not been missed since.

Something that worked for me to control the avalanche of plastic storage containers and lids in the cabinets was to get a couple of those $1 plastic baskets from Dollar General and put the smaller ones and their lids in one and the bigger ones in the other. They fit neatly on the shelves and no more Gladware or Rubbermaid raining down on my head. :D

My storage containers are the least of my problems; I went through them a while back and corraled them in an egg tote. It's the other stuff I need a system for, one that takes into account the fact that I can't stretch and lift like I used to.

If you run across a glass lid for a small Corningware dish, it is likely mine. I remember asking you about it after you gave me the dish back minus the lid-- you said it was probably there somewhere. I could use it if you find it in your cleaning travels!
