I haven't mastered the self-portrait yet---it doesn't help that I'm squinting into the afternoon sun---but here's a snap taken in my front yard on a recent sunny day, featuring moi in a beige sundress, a playful rafia hat, and a necklace I made for myself to complement that and a couple other specific warm-weather ensembles.





ETA: The contrast at the neckline is actually the sun shining through the brim of my hat.

The joys of Florida---it's averaging 90F in the afternoon and summer has just gotten started. August will be roasting.

Just curious - did you take the pic by holding the camera at arm's length? Because digital cameras have a self-portrait function. Granted, you need a place to set the thing down, preferably at chest/eye level, but still... 'Makes the whole process a helluva lot easier!

Thank you! Granted, I've had the dress and hat both for years and years, but according to something I read about fashion trends recently, "nude" shades are IN right now, so I felt cute in it.

I think I read that same magazine at the hair salon. For the longest time my wardrobe seemed to consist of black, white and shades of gray, and I've just started wearing brighter colors. *sigh* Always behind the curve here.
