I've been over on Amazon.com contemplating Justified. It isn't out on DVD yet, there's no release date specified, but there's a prerelease purchase option for Seaaon One: $34.99 and free shipping. I happen to have a $20 gift credit, which I've been holding onto since Christmas, and I'm debating whether or not to part with $14.99---which would be a great deal, IMO---it's just that at the moment, that's my water bill. Or half a tank of gas. Weighed against my obsessive love for the show (and the fringe benefit of freeing up several hours of DVR space), I'm tempted but trying hard not to succumb.

I swear, I'm about ready to sell a kidney.

Hold onto the kidney. Could you buy the season as a download to your laptop and then burn those to discs? If you can (and you have the discs on hand), the cost drops to $20.99.

Feel free to yell "Get thee behind me, Satan!" at any time. :D

I may have an even mor economical solution. I've repaired my bridges with S (I have been distant from Schnauzerland since her antics at Kat's funeral), and SHE has an iTunes subscription. If I can figure out how to burn them to DVD, I can snag them when I housesit in September.

Ooh, much better idea!

I learned the hard way not to pre-order anything from Amazon that does not have a release date. One of my favorite writers missed the deadline for getting her next novel into publication, and it took several pleading e-mails to get Amazon to release the gift card money I'd put down on the pre-order.

Hmm, good point. There's enough stuff on my Amazon wish list without tying up my swag on something so tenuous.

Don't know about the specifics of your laptop (software, etc) but burning to a CD or DVD shouldn't be hard. Bear in mind, though, that you'll need to PURCHASE some of those first and *that* can get pricey at times.
