I know I can't make any frivelous purchases right now---but I have invested in one thing that's borderline, because I'll get a lot of use from it. I bought a shower cap. Not the dinky little clear 10 for $1.35 ones, but a size large, purple stamped with flowers, $1.89. Woohoo, major purchase!

I've made do with (free) plastic grocery bags, but they didn't really seal around my head. And, with as much time as I've been spending in the shower, I got tired of wet hair at bedtime. This is much better.

And I hate having to justify what ought to be such a little thing. This sucks.

It sounds very cute, and you'll get tons of use from something that cost less than four cans of soda. *hugs*

I think you may be paying too much for soda. Let me guess, vending machine?

Vending machine once in a great while. (Late last year I stopped carrying any silver change to help break my vending machine habit.) Lately it's been Kroger's house brand for $1.67 to $2.09 a twelve pack, depending on the sale.

I've been drinking a lot of iced tea this month because somehow it feels more cooling.

One of the reasons I'm semi-deffeinating is because I can drink more generic crystal light than I can soda. Carbonated versus noncarb...noncarb wins when I'm chugging it by the liter.

I think it's a wise investment actually. Anything that helps makes you more comfortable in the heat and humidity is a GOOD thing. I say this with some degree of authority, as we are currently on day 5 of a major (for us anyway!) heatwave, with humidex values in the upper 30s.

Sounds fairly miserable. I was rereading last year's entries and it was (as uusual) mid-October before we started feeling relief from the heat, so...three more months to go!

In my opinion that's a necessity - not a luxury. I use the cheapo plastic ones you get at the Dollar Tree, but still... It's something that's always in my bathroom, like toothpaste or toilet paper, ya know?

I figure that paying a little more at WalMart is offset by NOT wasting gas driving around comparison shopping. And it's by Conair, which is a brand I've found satisfactory in other products.

I *could* have continued to make-do with grocery bags, but this works better and will last longer. It's worth it, because I'm worth it.
