This house-sitting expedition has had a surprising side-effect, namely, I've been in bed around midnight and up at 8-ish. Of course, the fact that I'm sleeping comfortably may have something to do with it.

Captain Ahab's thermostat* is set in the low 70s, which is deliciously chilly. Seriously, it's at least 20 degrees cooler than my house, and the humidity is less, too.

I have completed a 20-page hand-written rough draft of my latest brainstorm. now to transcribe it for the first e-draft, and then, tweaking and more tweaking.

And now I'm off for Chinese food.

* Because "Mb's SO's dad" is a bit unwieldy, and because the house is FILLED with sea-related tchotchkes, IE 500 lighthouses, old fisherman, sailing ships, etc.

We had Mexican food out last night (worked an hour and half over and had no desire to cook after that kind of day), so tonight we stayed in and had pasta and a salad. My garden is about played out, though, so salads are about to get expensive again.

Considering I've been trying to push my circadian clock back for ages, I'm amazed that it's happened here so easily.

I got full faster than usual ot maybe I'm about Chinese'd out. Afterward, we went to the Big Lots down the plaza. I'm looking for a cheap crockpot, as something died in my old one. No joy, but I got a new bra for $7 and a mouse for my old computer. (Now I can run both of them simultaneously, go me!)

We got the chemicals sto shock the pool so we can swim tomorrow. I'm just sorry we didn't get it done earlier in the week, as swimming was one of the inducements to get me here. Although, hey: A/C. Can't complain....
