Spent six hours running around with Mb today. She lunched me at Cracker Barrel---the special of the day was chicken and rice with two sides (Mine were green beans and baby carrots). Then a visit to Captain Ahab at the nursing home, a stop by his house to pick up mail, etc., ice cream, and on the way home, a stop at the US1 Publix, where we ran into a former co-worker from the billing office.

I haven't seen her in at least four years; she's no longer trying to rock the Maureen O'Hara wannabe red hair, and her roots are about four months grown out---I'm so glad mine is to the point where I don't have roots any more. Also, I'm glad I was carefully dressed---when I left the house, it just seemed like an auspicious start to the new year---but situations like this come up, and I'm glad it was a pretty skirt and top rather than something schlubby.

It was a very full day, and I'm going to sleep like a baby tonight, that's for sure.

Overall, it sounds like you had a fulfilling day. Good for you! One of the things I have learned is that this Joker must always dress to impress. I find I get farther with people that way.

Dressing well is the best revenge, I've found.

Ugh. I'm rarely out and about (except to go to work) but it seems like running into someone I haven't seen in a long time is usually the way it goes when I'm looking less than my best. But when I'm dressed to the nines, I don't see anyone familiar. SO not fair!

Time for a closet purge, then. If you don't have unflattering crap in your wardrobe, you won't get caught out like that. Mind you, I'm ready for another purge myself---stuff that's too big, stuff I've worn once or twice and didn't like for whatever reason---because life's too short to dress poorly.

In my case, I'm always presentably dressed (and I declutter my closet at least twice a year). I do, however, fall victim to the occasional 'bad hair' or 'worn off makeup' day. Of course, THAT'S when I run into someone. *facepalm*

I don't typically put on any make-up on week-ends- not that I wear that much, anyway. I do tend to run into folks when I am sans any color with my natural black circles showing under my eyes. I try to look presentable , clothing wise , but I don't own anything fancy.

I'm doing good to scribble a little lipstick on. And I always feel like, with my glasses prescription, nobody's going to see any eye make-up anyway, so why bother?
