I guess so, he had heart surgery a couple years ago, so there's some kind of pre-existing condition. I'm still surprised though; I was certain he'd make it past 100.

I was trying to explain to my co-worker Connie, who's my age but had somehow never heard of or seen him. I tried to explain he was Richard Simmons before Richard Simmons, but of course that's completely inaccurate and unfair to Mr. LaLanne.
