Box, lots

There's been this vast pile of stuff occupying the area between my living room and dining area for...a few years now. And all this time, I've looked at it with despair. it's been between waist- and shoulder-high, and just looking at it has made me queasy.

I've been spelunking through it, and I'm disgusted with myself. Half of it is---drumroll, please---empty freaking boxes. Or boxes with a couple things in the bottom---a hat, some junk mail, loose grocery bags. There are maybe four boxes that I actually need to sort through, certainly nothing panic-worthy.

I also need to haul the leftover odds and ends off to a thrift store. At the moment, it's stacked up in front of the TV...and a respectable stack it is. With that out of the way, I'll be that much closer to having a civilized living room.

In the morning, I'll start ferrying some of the legion of boxes down to the curb for Friday's pick-up. Upwards of a dozen, from here and there. Several bags of trash. Progress. The middle is fine now; the perimeter still needs work.

If those empty boxes are mainly made of cardboard, rip the bottom/end flaps out and fold the suckers - it is easier to cram them into a trashbag like that and it makes fewer trips to the curb. You can let out your frustration with the ripping and save time and energy when delivering them to the curb. That is what I am doing with the empty copy paper boxes that the lecturers are too lazy to stuff into the trash.
And GO, Fluffy, go from my end, as well!

Copy paper boxes are a great size. The few boxes I'm hanging onto for sorting are from the grocery and originally held 15 cartons of eggs. They're basically cubes with punched out handles on two sides. The rest I'm pitching. They're two many random shapes and sizes.

GO FLUFFY GO! The good thing about those boxes is you can put them to good use filling them with stuff to go to the curb.

*shakes pompoms* YAY!

WalMart egg crates are my go-to box of choice. They're cubes, they have handles, and you can stack them three or four high. My objective is to eventually have ZERO of them....

Nice pompoms!

Hey btw, Jim Beaver was on Justified last night, which was great. It was really strange seeing him without that trucker cap! (As you might guess, there's q fair amount of scalp showing.)

Ooh, I'll have to see if I can watch that on the 'net. And, yeah, there's a reason why Bobby wears that cap in the house. :D I'd love to see them shoot a scene in which Bobby's asleep in in bed, dressed in his nightshirt and that ball cap.

I used to have ethe perfect icon for that, but it seems to be MIA. It was front "Dream a Little Dream of Me", where Bobby's lying in bed, and it's got a bunch of different hats on him. Funny as hell.

Go Fluffy, Go!

I'm with pwcorgigirl; boxes are good to hang on to (sometimes) because they can hold stuff that needs to go the curb, the thrift store, etc.

For the ones that aren't of a useful size... please tell me you recycle cardboard in FL.

Yup, Fridays are when we get two trucks, regular trash and recycling.
