Along about 8:30-ish, Mb rang me and wanted to know if I was up for some running around. She was determined to find a white purse to carry to go with her Easter ensemble.

I'm generally always up for running around with Mb, and tonight was no exception. First stop was the Super Target in Viera...this is the second time in recent weeks we've been in there at closing time. There were a couple bags that *I* thought were nice, but she claimed that they were *not* true white.

Once upon a time, Mb went with me to every WalMart in the county to find the exact right shade of green fabric for a Statue of Liberty costume for Halloween. So at no point in the proceedings did I urge her to settle for other than what she wanted.

She didn't get anything at Target. I, on the other hand, got two pairs of shoes:

I got the picture online, which lists them as $22.95 PER PAIR. I paid $5.74 per pair, which is ridiculously affordable, and now I'm set for shoes for summer.

On the way out, we bumped into a former coworker from the medical billing office. "Hello, I must be going!" was about the size of it, since the store was closing in 5 minutes.

Next came the Viera WalMart, which was a freaking ZOO, being the Saturday of a holiday weekend. No purse there either, but I got six pairs of socks and a four-pack of panties for under $5. I did *not* get the very cute top I was drooling over. (No pic online, or I'd show you how cute it really was.)

Onward to the Island WalMart, where Mb found a white tote (woven out of some kind of plastic strips, more beachy than churchy, but at the 11th hour, ya take what you can get).

Before church, I need to shower, make deviled eggs for potluck and sleep---not necessarily in that order.

Those are such cute shoes, and GO FLUFFY on rocking the bargain shopping. :)

I was searching in vain for some comfortable sandals at Beall's Outlet the other day. Sometimes I think half of America wears a size 6 and half shoe because there are never any that size on clearance.

Too funny---Mb IS a 6.5, and she was saying that just last night! Whereas, GK and I are both size 11, and that's no picnic to find either.

My shoes are generally from one of two places: Payless or Target. Once in a while, I may thrift some, but even those tend to be from one of the aforementioned.

I wore the shite ones to church this morning (Dress was pink floral), very comfortable, I can definitely see myself wearing the heck out of them!

My friend Miss V. wears a size 11, and she has good luck getting sneakers and sandals at Costco.

There's a Famous Footwear outlet store near here, and I've had good luck getting them to order shoes for me if the 6 1/2s are sold out. It's free shipping and they honor in-store sales, so it's a pretty good deal.

Mb and I both have wide feet, but I'll wear regular widths, because otherwise, I'd be barefoot. She won't.

I cheat; I buy my eggs boiled and shelled from the store. But there were just three left out of two dozen, which gives me a nice little snack for later.

My "secret" recipe isn't really a secret, I'll happily tell people I use tartar sauce instead of plain mayo.

tartar sauce sounds interesting. when I get fish and chips I often dunk the chips in the tartar sauce instead of ketchup or what have you.

Yeah...the way I see it, tartar sauce is basically glorified mayo with a little pickle relish in it. One time, I was out of regular mayo and it was late and I'd promised deviled eggs for a potluck, so I looked around my fridge and went, "Hey, let's try that!" And it was a hit, so I've been making them that way ever since.

weird since I really dislike mayo and pickle relish but I like tartar sauce. (even when I make deviled eggs I put in the minimum amount of mayo just to get the correct consistency. I also do this when I make chicken salad or anything of that sort.)

I know what you mean. I can't stand deviled egg filling that's been loaded with mayo and beaten to death. I prefer mine to be fairly stiff, with the yolks still contributing some texture to it.
