I got my act together and wrote a little something this afternoon. Given that it's been two months since I last spawned anything, yay! Go, me! (Now if I could just get some flippin' comments....)

Except for season one, I've done a coda for every SPN season finale. (And since I didn't start watching until 2.1, that's understandable, yes?) This year, it's a quickie attempting to resolve what was set up in the last few minutes. Other seasons have been more in depth, often crack, but this year, I don't have a whole lot invested. Too damn much agita and heartbreak.

Last night, I DVR'ed Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan. Haven't seen it in a few years, and evewn now, it's on in the other room and I'm listening to it. (J would be coming unglued.) I've seen it numerous times---like four or five times at the theater, and a few more when it was on HBO back in the day.

Off to bed when it's over.... *yawn*

*has a random flashback and snicker-fit* Ow, my stomach muscles! You see, a friendess of mine was writing her final thesis and the WIP name of the thing by her was "KHAAAAAN!" as she hated the thing with vengeance. So every time anyone mentions this movie, I... well, lose it.
But damn how I hate people who think that their way of doing things is the only right one. I have multitasked whole of my life - radio, TV, computer on all at the same time. Yes, when I want to focus, I switch something off but not necessarily everything else. In fact, I used to translate better when I had music on my earphones! So... yeah.

And so 'wrath' and 'Khan'. Gotcha. For me, the age of the thing was hard to believe. The Enterprise crew...we've lost Bones and Scotty, the survivors aren't exactly spring chickens...and I can remember seeing it in the theater when it first came out...at a theater that isn't even standing any more. Yikes.

My attention span tends to get antsy after a certain length of time. At home, I'll have the TV on, a book in front of me and a sandwich at one hand. At J's, I might be able to concentrate better if her furniture wasn't so bloody uncomfortable.

That is so odd - she having that condition that should make her very aware of furniture and she has that uncomfy things?!

She is either in her office chair at her computer, or in her motorized wheelchair. Her furnishings are all secondhand. In the living room where we were watching stuff, there's another office chair (dead, doesn't go up at all), a straight-backed dining chair, two very short sofas (I had a bitch of a time getting up from them when I made the mistake of sitting on one) and a recliner that's as far from the TV as it's possible to be.

Secondhand does not mean crap but in her case, I suppose it does. Damn. I am sorry.

Still the best of the movies, I think. Yes, there's a lot of over-the-top-ness, but it's done with love and respect and I actually think it's Shatner's best performance. Although his hair (toupee?) is just appalling.

That one and #4 (I think---the one with the whales). And then the reboot, which IMO is the pick of the litter. Although I've always agreed with the quip that "Galaxy Quest" was my favorite Star Trek movie. Of the Trek that existed at that time, definitely, yes.
