A true friend

I'm at Mb's, by way of the recycler's, where I planned to drop off the four full bags of cans I've got squashed into my trunk and backseat. Alas, at some point in the last year or so, they discontinued their Saturday hours. (And they're not open Mondays, so I hope I don't need my trunk.) I've purged the expired coupons from my binder, and we've been to Walgreens and Publix.

Mb, bless her heart, is contributing to my hospitality with some rolls and a container of bbq beef, so I can make mini-sliders to go with the bean-corn salad. I've also got a bag of corn chips for scooping. Sara Lee products are on 50% off sale at Publix AND I had a coupon, so that'll work for dessert. I think I'm set!

Today is as pretty as my icon. I woke to the balmy temp of 82F in my room, which was delightful. I'm wearing a shirt with 3/4 sleeves, and I'm not roasting. Hooray! Fall is here!

After four solid months of temps in the 90s? 82 is divine. And this evening, it's even cooler, and there's a crisp breeze. Mb and I sat out there after supper, sighing with contentment and savoring it.

Granted, it's been downright dreary here for the last 3 days - rainy, chilly, gray - and my furnace wants to keep coming on, but after the summer from hell that we endured, I am NOT complaining.
