What is your favorite ice cream flavor

I'm very fond of coconut---Ben and Jerry used to do a fabu coconut-almond-chip---but my all-time favorite is something I used to get when I was growing up on Staten Island. It was sweetcream---nothing so definite as vanilla, just a sweet creamy goodness. It came in little paper cups and it was garnished with shavings of toasted almond. The best!

That said, I love ice cream in general as long as it's GOOD ice cream. I'm not a fan of brown stuff that calls itself chocolate simply because someone once walked past it carrying a Hershey bar. I want my vanilla to have actual vanilla bean in it. IMO, the bestest chocolate is Publix Chocolate Trinity, although Ben and Jerry's New York Super Fudge Chunk will do in a pinch (too pricey!)

I'll go for their Pistachio, Pistachio in a pinch, but my fav nutty cold thing is Steak 'n' Shake Butter Pecan shake. *flail*

I don't have ice cream as often as I like these days, because my teeth are too sensitive, even with Sensodyne toothpaste.

i used to LOOOOOOOVE Ben and Jerry's Coconut Almond Chocolate Chip! They stopped making a lot of the flavors I love but at least they haven't stopped making New York Super Fudge Chunk, which is my favorite. (also, I've met Ben Cohen! he was very nice.)

I miss the coconut almond chip, too. NYSFC is good, but it's a distant second for me.

I loathe and detest "chocolate" ice cream or chocolate in ice cream - despite liking chocolate. Mostly if I'm having chocolate I want it to BE chocolate in a solid block or some sort not adulterating my ice cream. That said, I absolutely loved the chestnut Carte d'Or ice cream I used to be able to buy in France and have encountered nowhere else before or since. This is it!

I have no idea if it's still available, but Brookfield Orange Pinapple was always my choice as a kid. These days I very rarely eat ice cream, BUT when I DO eat ice cream, it's usually a cheap cherry something. The one exception, which is usually for my birthday, we get in the car and drive about 40 minutes to Berg's, a "mom and pop" operation, ice cream heaven in Newfoundland.

My favorite fruity flavor is banana, although Edy's fdoes an orange-chocolate chip sherbet that's pretty good, or was---I haven't had it in ages and am not sure they even make it anymore.

My fave used to be Howard Johnson's pistachio. It can't be found any longer and I am now lactose intolerant. Ben and Jerry's has SO many wonderful offerings but their price combined with no dairy leaves me out!
I used to polish off a pint of NY Super Fudge Chunk in an evening!!
We went to Steak and Shake on Sunday and hubby immediately ordered the mint choc chip shake...he's such a kid!

Yeah, I could do a pint in lieu of dinner, easy. Haven't in ages, though, which is why I'm back in my skinny jeans.

I love coffee ice cream, but it has to have a good strong flavor -- none of that weak stuff, thank you very much. :) And I love peppermint ice cream at Christmas, especially the kind with nice-sized chips of real peppermint candies.

When I was a kid, I adored Kay's Kastle Black Walnut ice cream, and I still mourn the passing of Baskin-Robbins' Miami Ice, which was pink grapefruit sherbet marbled with a generous amount of lime sherbet. That stuff was so awesome on a hot day.

Ice cream doesn't hurt my teeth, but it sometimes gives me fierce heartburn -- ah, the joys of middle age! -- so I keep it down to the occasional cone instead of a weekly treat.

Oooh, the Miami Ice sounds delish. Walnut, okay, peppermint, fine---but NOT coffee. I never developed a taste for the stuff.

I'd totally forgotten that coconut/almond thing. Jesus that was addictive. I wonder why they discontinued it.

IDK, but if I was going to guess, I would say allergies. Although---they do plenty of flavors with nuts, and I'm pretty sure that's a more common allergen that coconut. I sure do miss it, though!

Have you ever had black licorice ice cream? We used to get it at a little store when I was a kid in Michigan - yummy! I was the only one in my family to like it. (They also had real blue moon, pineapple flavored, not the frosting flavor most places make now.)

*flail* I've never even *heard* of licorice ice cream before, but I'd try it in a heartbeat. I LOVE black licorice!

Since we here do not get all those fancy names of ice cream brands, I am still fondly remembering a Soviet time ice cream that was simply called School-ice cream - it was a vanilla covered with lemon-sugar coat. Absolutely delicious. Nowadays... the pickings are larger but recent faves usually include cherry in some form :)

Oooh, lemon-vanilla sounds really good! We have something that may be similar called Dreamsicles, which is vanilla popsible with an orange covering. Tasty!

There was this one swirly sherbet type of an ice cream that had both lime and lemon in it. That was refreshing, too. And one that had vodka in the lemon taste... But these both are recent developments.

Vodka and lemon? Okay---but I'd rather have rum and coconut! In fact, that sounds really good about now!
