I can haz glasses!

vanillafluffyY'all will be glad to hear than I finally nailed down a pair of glasses this morning! My gal from church came through: I not only found some frames that I could live with, Mb, who was with me, got a pair, too!
We tried on A LOT of glasses. If I'd been content to settle for a pair of plain Jane frames, I could've had them for $95. Eh, not so much. I kept trying frames on, peering at them and saying, "Well, I don't hate them...I'm just not in love with them."
Finally, I found some wire-rims with some character to them. They were my favorite of the ones that were in my price range, and ended up being $130 total. Compared to WalMart, which would've been a MINIMUM of $160 plus frames, I am satisfied that I got a good deal, and I can get lenses for my new scrip in my old pair for back-up*. I still like the frames, I just can't SEE out of them.
The best part was when Mb found out that Medicaid would pay for all but $2 for new glasses for her. She also had a recent exam, but was priced out of the market elsewhere. She's not the grandstander that I am; she was content with a simple pair of frames, and we're both very happy at the prospect of being able to SEE again.
On the way home, J called me to let me know my iPhone case has arrived. I'm headed over there momentarily, but I thought I'd share the good news that the great glasses quest has been achieved!
