Okay, for starters, I have a doctor's appointment. Granted, it isn't til tomorrow afternoon, but I'll live. And, because I've been there previously, it'll "only" cost me $70 instead of $120. It's been a little under three years since I was there last; according to the gal I spoke to, my returning patient status would've "expired" in June....

Even better news, the damned thing drained overnight. I took off my improvised dressing this morning, and it was soaked with...stuff. (The adhesive bandage strips I had didn't begin to cover this thing, so I MacGuyvered something with tissues and ducttape. Worked like a charm.) I stuck it in the shower and washed it off with some antibacterial soap. It feels a little less like my foot was caught in a bear trap, and I'll keep popping antiinflammatories.

Thanks, everybody, for all your love and well wishes! It helped, believe me!

I missed your toe-post first time 'round. *hugs* I just snooped thru your last few entries to see what was up. Glad you're feeling better - foot pain is a REAL pain, considering it's one of our most depended-on body parts. >.<;;;

Uh-huh. I had a monster headache and lay down for a while, and when I got up a little bit ago, I could walk MUCH more easily. Not painlessly, but not the beartrap, either!

Betadine wash is good, too. I'd wait and see what they tell you, though. He may have a better suggestion!

I don't have any in the house, but I'll see what the doc recommends. Until then, I figure soap and water can't hurt!

Whew! I'm glad to hear that. And antibacterial soap is the right way to go until you see the doc. *hugs*

I'm reading backwards, so didn't know what had happened at first. Just read the original post - ouch. Glad to hear it's getting better and draining on its own. (And hope whatever antibiotics the doctor gives you are effective right away.)

If not for the urging of my f'list, I probably wouldn't bother at this point (since it's drained), but it won't hurt to get a professional opinion and meds. And get my records updated with their office and all that good stuff.

I know people who go to the doctor every time they have to blow their nose, whereas I'm one of those people who either has to be in excruciating pain or bleeding from an artery to seek medical help. It seems to me that the people who go for everything wind up on pills for everything, and sooner or later, they're going to drop dead of side effects. Me, well, I may drop dead too, but without the side effects; instead of spending all my money on scrips, I can indulge in my other vices, like shopping....

Thanks for stopping by!

That logic is OK to a point~ since moving past the age of 50, there are certain preventative visits that should be made as well as annual check-ups. Doesn't necessarily mean you'll be on meds~ just keeps certain things in check. IMHO.

I know. That's the part I'm not looking forward to.
