What's the worst case of "buyer's remorse" you've ever had? What were you hoping to get out of your purchase but didn't?

Boots. I spent an unholy amount of money on eBay for what looked like an adorable pair of boots. I hadn't/haven't had a pair of boots in years, and these were cool. I was looking forward to being a genial badass in these strappy little cognac ankle boots.

Alas, they didn't fit over my Clydesdale ankles. I still have them, though. Hope springith eternal....

Last year I bought a beautiful red Derek Alexander leather tote bag. Even with getting it on sale and using up my eBag points, it cost over $80. I shopped carefully beforehand and thought about it for a very long time before buying it, but it's given me buyer's remorse. It's so pretty, but not until I had it did I realize I am not a red handbag person. So it hangs in my closet, barely used, until I develop a more flamboyant personality.

*nods* Yeah, that's something not everyone can pull off. I'm not even sure I could, although it would depend on the bag. On the other hand, I have a giant, PINK moc-croc tote that I've found quite useful and not a fashion liability, so maybe. Definitely NOT on my "to get" list any time soon!
