Yay, Saturday the 14th!

Yesterday was Friday the 13th all day long. Luckily (I guess), Mb talked me off the ledge.
In the last 48 hours, I've lost another chunk of tooth (and a front tooth at that), discovered that my cherished art deco cake plate had a hole corroded through it, been charged an overage by "my" cell phone company (J set it up, and it's a crap plan).
Today, I've gained a pound and had THREE phone calls before noon. First was Mb, bitching because her neighbors are causing trouble about her feral cats. (I, the "not a cat person", made sympathetic noises. All things considered, I wish we could swap neighbors; I'd much rather live next door to her!) Two miutes later, seriously, I got a call from a survey company that's been pestering me---but I *think* I straightened them out. I hope. Two minutes after that---yes, really!---J called to confirm that I was over on the plan, had racked up an additional chage, and did I want to come over this evening?
Yes, I'm going over there. Air and wifi for the win, even if I get skunked at canasta. It's interesting how we've gotten closer since her mom died. I suspect on her part, it's because I knew Susie so well---*and* her grandmother, Nancy, and even her great-gran, slightly. And as someone whose own family is gone, I understand how good it feels to be able to talk with someone who remembers them. In my case, Big Red and I go back to high school. She's about the only friend left that knew my dad, my brother and a few of my aunts and uncles.
GK has shipped the Nook, but it just left Albuquerque this morning, according to the tracking, so it'll probably turn up sometime midweek. Yay! She's also sending me a card for more air-time for my other cell, the Tracfone, and some odds and ends she's thrifted. She says she's not sure if some of the clothes will fit, but it's a flat-rate box, so she stuffed it in and will hope for the best.
I organized my baking dishes atop the fridge (which was how I found out about the cake plate). Also, the whole counter has been gone over, a quick swipe, anyway. Didn't do much yesterday, just felt like it was all futile.
Hmm, maybe I'll bomb the house when I leave for J's. I've got the foggers, might as well use 'em.

She refuses to believe that her friend ripped off my iPod, which I was perfectly satisfied with. I gave J $30 to find me a used one on eBay, and this is what came of it. I haven't brought it up because she's liable to ask for the iPhone back, and I'll be ddamned if that's gonna happen.
