Okay, so the rest of the world probably thinks I'm crazy. But a week ago, we were smugly congratulating ourselves that summer was ebbing, with temps in the low 80s and overnight lows in the 70s---and now it's mid-morning and it's 65 degrees!!! That's in my office. The National Weather Center has the outside temp as 54 with a high of 68! Honestly, this is the coldest it's been since late March.

J is back in town after an eventful trip to see her dad in Maryland---her traveling companion, TRT, needed emergency gall bladder surgery in Tennessee. However, they did eventually make it to her dad's and a good time was had. I'm going over there Friday or Saturday evening to catch up---hopefully my jury stipend will have arrived by then; I need gas money.

I'm going to spend the rest of the day doing laundry. A couple clean blankets would be nice, because I don't really want to shut the windows. Although it might tone down the hellhounds by a few decibels....

It's been pretty warm here as well, for October, though we may get snow on Saturday! *shivers*

Alledgedly it's going to be 44 tonight---the windows are definitely going to be shut!

Snow?! Yikes! We get snow maybe once a decade. Maybe. Florida in general, but us in particular. I think we've have snow here exactly twice since I landed here in '74.

LOL, well, you have to remember I live in Canada (Southern Canada, but still). Snow kinda comes with the territory, though in the last couple years we didn't get our first snow til mid-Dec.

I'm hoping this winter is going to make up for last year, when it was perishing hot thru November, got comfortable, then we had a week of winter temps in December (My definition of winter temps being anything below 50...) and another week scattered between January and February. It started getting warm (over 80) in April, and just kept getting hotter. I don't think it dipped below 85 between May and September, unless it rained, and then thehumidity was 100%....

Meh, I hear you on the humidity, at least. It gets SO hot and muggy here over the summer, winter is almost a relief (OK, not really, but....I could definitely see how it could wear on someone after awhile. ;) ).

Are you going to get smacked by Sandy? That would be way ironic, if you left FL for NY only to get hit by a hurricane!

Here's hoping! I was just watching a news report on the storm, and it's BAD. We're used to that shit down here, but NY/NJ is getting hammered. (To say nothing of the blizzard in WV.)

It's been cold here today with a pretty stiff breeze. I took Rosie outside at about 2 p.m.,but forgot to put on a sweater first and thought I was going to have hypothermia by the time she found the perfect patch of grass to christen.

I closed enough windows to forestall frostbite, and now it's 68 in my office. Funny how just a couple degrees can make such a difference in comfort sometimes!
