vanillafluffyI got a request for another house-sitting gig the last weekend of the month, this time from the C's from church. I've been too polite/reserved/inhibited to ask if I can expect to get paid for this gig. (I'd ask for an advance, if I had the nerve.)
Went to another agency today to try to get help with the light bill, but they're out of funding---and don't expect to have more til March.
Am going to be in Schnauzerland Thurs-Sunday this week, so that'll bring in something. Remains to be seen how much.
Theoretically, tomorrow I'm seeing a friend who might be able to get me a part-time gig at the bookstore at the Mall where she works. *fingers crossed* Honestly, I can get by on damn little money as far as covering the basic bills go. At least for the time being. When the holidays are over and property tax season gets here, it's a whole new ball game...but right now, anything.

S paid (or is in the process of paying) $1700 for an emergency hysterectomy. When I *think* of how badly I could use that kind of money---I'm sorry, but the thought of schnauzers at the moment does not fill me with unalloyed joy.
