Easter. Yes, I said Easter.

vanillafluffyNever mind that I'm a pagan at heart, I was raised with all the Christian trappings, so I'm not going to bend over backward to be politically correct and avoid Those Holidays. What sparked that? Why, the fact that I went to Goodwill this afternoon and found an Easter dress!
My inner badass is laughing her ass off, because tho' I tend to avoid soft pinks (Give me strawberry/hot pink/bubblegum, baby!) and florals, I found---and snagged!---a charming dress in soft pink with a pattern of deeper pink/coral roses. It has a solid pink taffeta underdress with the rose print over it on sheer nylon, very classic with an A-line skirt and a fitted sleeveless bodice and a neckline that isn't quite a scoop neck and isn't quite a boater. It suggests the 50's, somehow. I've dubbed it America's Sweetheart Rose.
And what Easter dress is complete without an Easter bonnet? It just so happens I picked up a secondhand straw or raffia hat when I was out and about with GK a few weeks ago, and it begs to be transformed. I had to go to Wal*Mart anyway this evening, so I wandered through their craft section and found some blossoms that ought to do the job nicely. During check-out, I promised to come through on Easter Eve and show the results to the cashier who rang them up for me.
I probably ought to feel guilty, but I don't. At this point, the total cost of the outfit is still under $20 for the dress, the hat and the flowers. Somehow, I WILL get pictures!
